Helping you find a path to change

Welcome to the Tiger Mountain Counseling website!

My name is Jenny Frank-Doggett. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington and a Child Mental Health Specialist. I have been working in the mental health field since 1995, focusing on individual adults, couples, adolescents, children, and families.  In addition to therapy with families and individuals, I have taught life skills classes, parenting classes, and led therapeutic groups.  I hold a Masters Degree in counseling and psychotherapy from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado.

I have set up this website to provide an overview of my approach, and an outline of the primary areas where I counsel  individuals. People seeing me for therapy come for a number of reasons, including: depression, anxiety, anger management, recovering from trauma or something in the past, relationship issues, needing help and support with parenting, grief and loss, and transition from one stage of life to another. I specialze in the following types of therapy:

  • Individuals
  • Relationships
  • Parenting
  • Anxiety, anger, depression, and other mood problems
  • Trauma and loss
  • Life transitions

My approach draws from several different schools of therapy. In short, I focus on enabling indivduals and families to find their own solution to challenges. I also ask clients to set concrete goals so that we may use those as a benchmark for whether or not the therapy is progressing. When clients are able to find a solution within themselves, they are more likely to have the confidence and skills to solve problems that may occur in the future.

I will tailor the work depending on the individual, couple, or family, trying to meet their unique needs, life experience, and situation.  I use a short indicator to measure progress (to see if the therapy is working) and determine whether or not the client feels my services are right for them. If we find that I am not the “right fit”, I will do my best to help the client find the appropriate therapist for their needs.
